R.A.C.E. round 5 (Nelson track) Shannonville, Ont Aug. 14-16 ‘09 PDF Print E-mail

Raffa RACE round 5We both arrived Friday morning early in order to get a head start on the weekend together, seeing the weather was calling for extreme heat & humidity.

We were offered to test some new Bridgestone tires during our testing sessions, which we gratefully did (huge thanks again Dave).

Friday’s sessions went great, setting some quick lap times from the get-go, which made us feel quite comfortable for the weekend to come.

Saturday morning’s practices went great, some extreme minor gearing sorting out to do but basically nothing to do but to make sure the bike was gassed up & the rubber was hot.

Anny RACE round 5The afternoon’s Pro 600 heat race didn’t go as planned unfortunately, as the event was pushed back in the schedule to the end of the afternoon which left us waiting around for nearly 4 hours between events. Louie qualified 7th.

After a huge night’s rest we awoke to another scorching morning. Nevertheless we we’re ready & dialed in as to what the day’s plan was to do.

The morning practice couldn’t have gone any better, flawless. Following the practices & the scrub lap session the bike got it’s final prepping before the race. We were ready.

The flag was dropped, the lights went to green & following the, to say the least abrupt pass on the start, Louie was off to a 10 lap thrilling race. He crossed the finish line in 6th place, beating MJ Boucher which has been riding good all year, maintaining his 4th place in the R.A.C.E series Pro 600 championship.

As always we couldn’t do what we do, or as well as we do without the people that support us, huge thanks to: Moto Newman, Importations Thibault, Suomy, Litho Select, EBC brakes, Pirelli, Orion Motorsports & PhotoActive.
